A regular season without conceding a point
Seven games, 346 points scored, none allowed. The 2024 varsity defence did not give up a single point in the regular season.
The 2024 varsity Raiders played seven regular-season games and did not concede a point in any of them.
The scores: 60–0 at Crocus Plains, 68–0 against Sturgeon Heights, 42–0 at St Paul’s, 19–0 at Maples, 52–0 at Grant Park, 56–0 against Springfield and 49–0 against the Vincent Massey Vikings. Three hundred and forty-six points for, none against, across the whole of the regular season.
The margins were not uniform — the 19–0 at Maples was a different kind of afternoon from the 68–0 — and that is arguably the more interesting part. On the day the offence found it hard, the defence still did not let anybody score.
The run continued into the playoffs without quite holding: 52–8 in the quarter-final and 24–10 in the semi-final. The first points Oak Park conceded in 2024 came in the eighth game of the year.
